How did it get to be the holiday season already?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Before you know it, the new year will be here, and it will be time to resume your executive job search in earnest.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve put your search on hold until January, because everyone knows that no one lands anything but seasonal work in November or December, right?<\/p>\n

\u2022 Only 3% more jobs were filled<\/em><\/span> in January and February of 2013 (vs. November and December of 2012).<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Employers are more desperate to fill jobs in November and December.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Using employer spending as a measure, employers are willing to pay more to promote their job postings in November and December than they are in January and February (when they have plenty of attention from job seekers).<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In fact, the holidays are a great time to make networking headway in your job<\/a> search and land your next gig.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

You\u2019ll have less competition for about the same number of jobs because everyone thinks it\u2019s the worst time to land a job<\/a> and don\u2019t bother trying.<\/p>\n

Employers want to fill openings before the end of the year, so they’ll be 100% staffed at the start of the 2014.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll have more opportunities to meet and speak with executive recruiters, hiring decision makers, and others who can help you with your career goals, because they won\u2019t be inundated with meeting requests, like they will as soon as January gets here.<\/p>\n
