Personal branding is at the top of the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, we talk about the things they don\u2019t know how to deal with . . . the <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/5-things-you-probably-dont-know-about-executive-resumes-and-job-search\/\">things they don\u2019t understand about executive job search<\/a>, that may be holding them back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since their questions range across the spectrum of the <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/are-you-executive-job-search-ready\/\">executive job search<\/a> landscape, I thought it would be meaningful for others facing some of these issues to benefit from our discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, I\u2019ve gone back to my notes over the past few years, and compiled a good amount of information to pass on to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My notes culminated in a series of posts on&nbsp;Executive Job Search FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions), representing&nbsp;the major road blocks and\/or <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/16-deadly-executive-job-search-mistakes\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"882\">executive job search strategies<\/a> my clients have told me they need help understanding, across various topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>LinkedIn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Executive Job Interviews<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Executive Resumes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Online Reputation Management&nbsp;and Online Presence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Executive Job Search, in general<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>You&#8217;ll find links to these posts at the bottom of this page.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Personal Branding FAQs for Executive Job Search<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. I have a diverse background with widely varying expertise and success in many areas. You need to know who you\u2019re writing your <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/what-personal-branding-is-not\/\">personal brand<\/a> content for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How else can you whittle down and focus on what to include, and what NOT to include?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being generic in your approach and including everything about yourself \u2013 all your strengths and areas of expertise \u2013 will dilute your message. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your content may not resonate with the people you want it to, unless you\u2019ve found that your target employers want and need a \u201cjack of all trades\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through your research, uncover your target employers\u2019 current pressing needs, and then build your <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/new-year-time-to-revisit-and-refresh-your-personal-brand\/\">personal brand<\/a> content (for your executive resume, LinkedIn profile, biography, etc.) around positioning yourself as the best-fit candidate, and differentiating the value you offer over your competitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although it may seem counterintuitive to limit your possibilities by niching your focus, narrowing your search is the way to go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This also allows you to effectively manage relevant keyword density (that is, your personal SEO, or Search Engine Optimization) in your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/megguiseppi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a> and other online profiles. You need to be sure you <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/how-to-balance-personal-branding-with-personal-seo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">balance personal branding with personal SEO<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. I don\u2019t like to boast about myself. What is the most effective way to write about my brand without coming off as arrogant and boasting?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-src=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/PB-Bragging-1200-1024x536.png\" alt=\"is personal branding boasting\" class=\"wp-image-18817 lazyload\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"536\" src=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/PB-Bragging-1200-1024x536.png\" alt=\"is personal branding boasting\" class=\"wp-image-18817 lazyload\" srcset=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/PB-Bragging-1200-1024x536.png 1024w, https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/PB-Bragging-1200-300x157.png 300w, https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/PB-Bragging-1200-150x79.png 150w, https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/PB-Bragging-1200-768x402.png 768w, https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/PB-Bragging-1200.png 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Many, many executives struggle with this, because they assume <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/ignore-the-hype-what-authentic-personal-branding-is-and-is-not\/\">personal branding<\/a> requires you to boast.
