And they need help navigating their online reputation management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this post, I&#8217;ve detailed 3 of the biggest concerns my clients have expressed about their online presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve written a series of posts on&nbsp;Executive Job Search FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions), representing&nbsp;the major road blocks and\/or <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/16-deadly-executive-job-search-mistakes\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"881\">executive job search strategies<\/a> my clients have told me they need help understanding, across other important topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Personal Branding<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Executive Interviews<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Executive Resumes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LinkedIn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Executive Job Search, in general<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>You&#8217;ll find links to these posts at the bottom of the page here.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Online Reputation Management FAQs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. I don\u2019t like to put myself \u201cout there\u201d. How do I keep my private life private and still have a good online presence?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This becomes a sticky issue . . . whether or not you need to <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/5-ways-to-keep-your-executive-job-search-confidential-on-linkedin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">keep your search confidential<\/a> because you\u2019re currently employed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On one hand, you need to have a strong, diverse <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/does-your-online-presence-scream-dont-hire-me\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"84\">online presence to be \u201cfind-able\u201d by the various people<\/a> who can help you meet your career goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, of course you need to be careful about what you put out there. What are the best ways to build my brand online?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>More and more job-seeking executives are working on <a data-wpil-monitor-id=\"85\" href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/how-a-robust-online-presence-helps-you-land-the-best-jobs\/\">building their online presence<\/a>, and have embraced LinkedIn at the very least, as a foundation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just to keep pace with them, you\u2019ve got to match their efforts. So <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/linkedin-personal-branding-executive-job-search\/\">start with LinkedIn<\/a>, but don\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Think about this. Many qualified candidates DO have <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/deadly-linkedin-mistake-anemic-incomplete-profile\/\">fully-fleshed out, keyword-rich LinkedIn profiles<\/a> but not much else online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How much better do you think you\u2019ll look, if search results for \u201cyour name\u201d bring up several more web pages with added information that will be useful to people assessing you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What does it take to build strong online presence? Check out my post, <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/strong-online-presence-to-compete\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Is Your Online Presence Strong Enough to Compete?<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where are the best places to build your brand online?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your online brand communications plan should be built around posting relevant content that will demonstrate your subject matter expertise, and include at least some of these things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keeping your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/megguiseppi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LinkedIn Profile<\/a> up to date, and filled with plenty of relevant content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Posting articles on <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/the-value-of-blogging-your-personal-brand-on-linkedin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LinkedIn\u2019s Pulse<\/a> network<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/smart-personal-branding-posting-linkedin-updates-vs-updating-your-linkedin-profile\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"86\">Posting LinkedIn updates<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/deadly-linkedin-mistake-forgetting-linkedin-groups\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"87\">Joining and participating in LinkedIn Groups<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/showcase-your-personal-brand-with-linkedin-comments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Commenting on blogs, LinkedIn Pulse<\/a> and other widely-read online publications, including those for relevant professional associations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starting your own website or blogsite<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Writing articles or blog posts for other relevant sites<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating a professional Amazon profile (and\/or other booksellers) and writing reviews of relevant books<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Getting busy on other <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/3-ways-to-make-your-online-networking-count\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"88\">social networks<\/a> \u2013 Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. I\u2019ve heard that keywords are important for online reputation management. How does it all work?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Recruiters and hiring decision makers do Google and LinkedIn searches on keywords relevant to the kinds of candidates they\u2019re seeking, such as \u201cInformation Technology Executive, Enterprise Business Systems\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/keywords-in-job-search-how-important-are-they\/\">Relevant keywords<\/a> for you typically represent your areas of expertise and\/or your job title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The more these and other relevant keywords appear in content about you online (known as Search Engine Optimization or SEO), the more likely you are to be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Likewise, the more content that exists about you online that contains those keywords, the more likely you&#8217;ll land higher in search results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More about this in my post, <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/how-search-engine-optimization-seo-impacts-executive-job-search\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Impacts Executive Job Search<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can see that Personal SEO is a critical piece in successful job search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s also important to <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/how-to-balance-personal-branding-with-personal-seo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">balance Personal SEO with personal branding<\/a> in the content you write about yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/personal-seo-in-executive-job-search-whats-in-a-name\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"89\">Personal SEO<\/a> is all about relevant keywords and phrases (or \u201chard\u201d skills).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/the-new-10-step-executive-personal-branding-worksheet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Personal branding<\/a> links those keywords to \u201csofter\u201d skills \u2013 the personal attributes and qualities you possess that people rely on you for, and that indicate what you\u2019re like to work with and how you get things done . . . that is, your personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More Executive Job Search FAQs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/linkedin-faqs-for-executive-job-search\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LinkedIn FAQs for Executive Job Search<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/crucial-executive-job-interview-faqs\/\">Crucial Executive Job Interview FAQs<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/personal-branding-faqs-for-executive-job-search\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Personal Branding FAQs for Executive Job Search<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/game-changing-executive-resume-faqs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Game-changing Executive Resume FAQs<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/hot-button-executive-job-search-faqs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hot Button Executive Job Search FAQs<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fortunately, more and more of the executives I speak with are aware that,&nbsp;to land a great-fit&nbsp;new gig, they need to&nbsp;have a solid online presence and be mindful of online reputation management.
