Don\u2019t spend a lot of time responding to job postings.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Only a very small percent of <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/who-is-an-executive\/\">executive job seekers<\/a> land jobs through job boards, especially at the c-suite and senior executive level. Your time is much better spent working the methods that yield better results, as described below. But job boards are <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/use-job-boards-for-research-not-to-find-jobs\/\">great places for company, market and industry research<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Don\u2019t rely entirely on executive recruiters to get you into your next gig.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>They are a source for jobs, of course, but getting in touch with a few recruiters and waiting for them to find good-fit jobs for you could make for a prolonged job search. You\u2019ll need to be much more proactive to <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/best-ways-to-answer-tell-me-about-yourself-in-job-interviews\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"914\">land interviews<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5 Must-Do Ways to Land More Job Interviews<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/7-tips-to-build-your-executive-job-search-target-companies-list\/\">Target specific companies<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/best-ways-and-places-to-research-your-target-employers\/\">research their current pressing needs<\/a> that you\u2019re uniquely qualified to help them meet. <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Determine what qualities and qualifications will make you a good fit for specific employers. Narrowing your job search, as much as you can, works better than having a vague job search goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/the-personal-branding-manifesto-for-executive-job-search-part-2\/\">Define and differentiate your personal brand<\/a> around what makes you a good fit for those target employers. <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With this information and your targeting and research work in #1, you\u2019ll be much better able to communicate \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/how-to-build-personal-brand-content-for-executive-job-search\/\">verbally and on paper<\/a> \u2013 what makes you valuable, and position yourself as someone of interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Balance personal branding (soft skills) with <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/how-to-balance-personal-branding-with-personal-seo\/\">Personal SEO<\/a> (hard skills or areas of expertise) to:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/online-reputation-management-faqs-for-executive-job-search\/\">Build online visibility<\/a>&nbsp;in your LinkedIn profile (and elsewhere online),<\/li><li>Be found by <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/how-to-get-executive-recruiters-attention-with-the-right-email-messages\/\">executive recruiters<\/a> and other hiring managers, and<\/li><li>Provide <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/social-proof-where-online-presence-meets-personal-branding\/\">social proof<\/a> to support the claims you\u2019ve made in your job search documents (resume, biography, etc.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. These are not <a href=\"https:\/\/executivecareerbrand.com\/guide-to-executive-job-interviews-the-how-tos-whys-and-best-practices\/\">job interviews<\/a>, where you send them your resume and ask for a job, but they should lead to actual job interviews. Many companies have Employee Referral Programs (ERP) to reward their employees who recommend good hires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Stay top-of-mind with your network.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One important way to stay top-of-mind is to leverage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/megguiseppi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"LinkedIn (opens in a new tab)\">LinkedIn<\/a> with the following tools.
